Summary: Our time at Villa del Riccio could not have been better. Our host, Lucio, was fantastic, in touch with me frequently from the time of the reservation through our 9-day stay, offering help with everything from side trip planning to questions about the house to offering extra blankets for a cool night. The house is terrific, with ample indoor and outdoor space—two shaded eating patios, a balcony, and gazebo. It is very well equipped, with every cooking convenience, starter condiments, even a pizza oven. And the views—oh, my. Ample outdoor seating was one of many thoughtful extras. It’s a perfect place for a week in the country; you do have to drive to stores and restaurants, but that was part of the fun. We truly hated to leave.
